Scripts
A script in your channel's voice, written from a topic or from your own idea.
Write a script
From a topic choose Write the script, or open Scripts and start from your own idea. There is no type to pick. Your title, your notes and your links lead the script: when your notes say what to argue, what to open on or what to avoid, the writer does exactly that.
The writer also reads your channel profile and the kinds of videos you make. A topic from the finder is written as its kind. For your own idea the writer decides which of your kinds it is from the title and your notes, and shows that kind on the script.
Scripts the writer studies
Under Settings, Scripts, paste up to eight scripts you want new ones to sound like: your own videos, or videos from channels you look up to. A transcript works, timestamps and all. The writer studies them once, in about half a minute, and learns how they open, how they are built, how they joke and how they end. See what it learned shows its notes.
Every new script is then written that way on its own subject. The writer copies how the examples are built, never their sentences, jokes, catchphrases or facts. Add or remove an example and it studies them again. With no examples it writes in a plain, direct voice and picks the shape the title promises: a report, a verdict, a list, a how to or a story.
Length and pace
The script cap is four minutes by default. Change it under Settings, Scripts, anywhere from two to ninety minutes. The pace setting (words a minute) decides how many words fit.
Up to twelve minutes, the writer writes the whole script in one go. Past twelve minutes it plans chapters first, then writes them one by one, each one seeing the plan and the end of the chapter before, so a documentary keeps its thread without repeating itself. Each chapter shows as a heading with the time it starts, which you can reuse as YouTube chapters. While it writes, the script shows which chapter it is on.
A script costs 15 credits for every started 12 minutes it runs, counted on the length it is written at and never past your cap. A script of twelve minutes or less costs 15, a 30 minute script 45, a 90 minute script 120. Voiceovers and videos already charge by length.
What the writer adds
- Numbers. With number finding on, the writer looks up real figures for anything that is not breaking news and names whose number each one is.
- Stories. Off by default. When on, it looks for real stories from people in your niche.
- Sign off. Your closing line, read at the end of every script.
- Subscribe ask and date line, each a toggle. The date is only said when the script reports something from the last few days.
Versions
Ask for a fresh version whenever you like. A fresh version carries nothing over from earlier ones. Versions keep the topic's title unless you pick one of its other titles.
Limits
20 scripts a venture a day, and each script costs credits.
